The existing wood decking along this Bedford backyard easement had deteriorated and become uneven, making the narrow access area due for replacement.
We removed the old deck boards and inspected the existing framing below. Sound framing was retained, damaged components were replaced, and additional supports were added where needed before the new surface was installed.
New composite decking was then measured, cut, and fitted along the backyard brick wall to create a cleaner, more durable walking surface through the easement. A temporary fence was also installed during the project to keep the client’s animals safely separated from the active work area.
This project combined exterior carpentry, framing repair and reinforcement, and composite decking installation to restore a functional access area without unnecessarily replacing framing that remained structurally usable.
